Make time for you
Schedule and plan your self-care. Set aside time each day to enable your self-care to become a habit. Develop your self-care goals and wellness plan.
Prioritise your self-care time
Let others in your life know that your self-care is vital to your well-being. Share your plan with them and ask them to support it. Print your wellness plan out, display it at home so others can see what you are up to and support you.
Switching Off
Some people are good at switching off from distraction and life others need to learn this.
Self-care often requires focus; it may involve a solo activity or be an activity you enjoy sharing with others.
If it’s hard for you, try doing something that diverts your attention, like mindfulness, solving a puzzle or reading a book.
Learn some quick fixes
If you are frazzled and short on time, learn some strategies that can be done in a few minutes. Breathing exercises and stretching are great as they can be done in a few minutes, practically anywhere.
Healthy living matters
Be mindful that you are getting adequate sleep, physical activity, eating a well-balanced diet and keeping a check on your own physical and emotional health requirements.
