I’m thrilled to be part of NMS, a service that’s quietly making a big difference. My role is all about spreading the word and growing awareness!
I will be connecting with nurses, midwives, healthcare leaders, educators, and students nationwide to highlight the importance of NMS. And I will also collaborate closely with our communications team to craft content that resonates with the nursing and midwifery community and underscores our message: Your Health Matters. NMS is a service created and run by nurses and midwives, and it’s crucial that it meets your needs!
My journey began with a degree in Sociology and a gap year of global travel. I then trained and worked as a midwife in Sheffield in the UK and moved to Melbourne in 2012. Since then, I've worked in various roles across Melbourne’s tertiary public maternity hospitals, including continuity team midwifery, out in the community, education, clinical support, and as a birth suite AMUM. My career also spans healthcare improvement, project management and innovation, aiming to tackle systemic challenges and enhance the care experience for everyone involved.
Nurses and midwives are exceptional individuals who deserve top priority in health and wellbeing support. I've always loved been connecting with families. I miss the hands-on clinical work and the powerful experience of birth; but I’m dedicated to promoting the significance of NMS in supporting our workforce.
When I’m not working, I stay active with cycling, running, and weightlifting, and participate events to stay motivated. I balance that active lifestyle with a love for good food and cherish family holidays in the caravan with my two young boys and husband.
